University of Nairobi, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kenya

Introduction: The UNCTAD flagship programme is derived from the tenth UNCTAD Conference, held in 2000. Since then, the programme's mandate has been reaffirmed at every UNCTAD conference:

  1. São Paulo Consensus, UNCTAD XI, 2004;
  2. Accra Accord, UNCTAD XII, 2008;
  3. The Doha Mandate, UNCTAD XIII, 2012;
  4. Nairobi Maafikiano, UNCTAD XIV, 2016.

Up to now, the programme has trained approximately 920 trade and development officials along with academics in five developing regions. The programme enjoys high recognition from member States and regional groups taking part in the Trade and Development Board meetings. This is the UNCTAD flagship course.
