The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund (GSNF) will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters Programmes during the 2023/2024 academic year.

Interested candidates are invited to apply/re-apply for the scholarship through our online application portal (https://gandhi.uonbi.ac.ke) from Monday July 3, 2023g A non-refundable application fee of Kenya Shillings Two Thousand Only (KShs. 2,000.00) will be charged to be paid through MPESA services.

The MPESA payment details are:

1. BUSINESS NUMBER: 913901

• ACCOUNT NUMBER*: This will be generated by the system for every applicant
• Please pay only when the application system prompts you to pay and allocates you an account number for your payment to be valid

Applicants must have attained at least an Upper Second Class Honors or its equivalent at Bachelors Level and must upload onto the application portal a letter of offer for postgraduate studies at the University of Nairobi for a Masters programme (not PhD).

Deadline for application is Friday August 4, 2023

Only successful applicants will be contacted through the same portal

The UoN Department of Economics and Development studies in partnership with CERGE-EI has organized an information session aimed at sensitizing students about graduate courses at CERGE-EI (MA in Economic Research and PhD in Economics).

This is aimed at increasing future opportunities, enhancing global networks and linkages for our economics studentship and connecting to our alumni. It shall also serve as an opportunity to mentor students on soft skills and preparation for life after campus.

The session will be held online on 13th February 2023 at 3.00 pm EAT (1.00 pm CET).

Speaker: Winnie Njoroge

Bio

Winnie Njoroge is currently undertaking a PhD in Economics at the Center for Economic Research and Graduate Education - Economics Institute (CERGE-EI), Czech Republic. She holds an M.A in Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from the University of Nairobi. Prior to joining CERGE-EI, Winnie worked as a researcher at Kirinyaga Investment and Development Authority (KIDA) and as a research assistant at Utafiti International Limited. She also worked at Equity Bank (K) Limited in different capacities. Her research orientation is environmental economics, development economics, and experimental economics.
