Mr. Isaiah Kiprono Byegon successful defends his PHd Thesis
On Thursday, July 4th 2022 Isaiah Byogon defended his thesis titled : ANALYSIS OF CHILD DEPRIVATIONS AND WELL BEING INEQUALITIES IN KENYA
Byegon has published in reputable journals that are peer reviewed
The Department congratulates Mr. Byegon on this achievement.

The University of Nairobi in partnership with UN Women, Women Count data hub and the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics hosted a webinar on ‘Further Analysis of Time Use Data’ on Thursday, June 9,2022.
In this webinar, participants got to understand the importance of time use surveys, the modules that are used to inform research in this area and that women form 75% of the people who take part in unpaid care and domestic work.
In Kenya very little research has been carried out on the effect of the size of the informal sector on tax
performance. Failure to raise adequate tax revenue from the increasing informal sector implies the
government should either resort to unpopular tax rates increases or public debt.
The faculty of arts and social sciences was recognized during the performance and contracting awards through its various departments and the staff who work under it. This recognition was made to both teaching and non-teaching staff who have been exemplary in their performances.
The University of Nairobi held its Faculty and Campus Students Association (FCSA) annual elections. The elections were held virtually on Friday March 25th, 2022.
There were three teams competing for FCSA office in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences FOASS; Team Success, Team Okuz and Team Integrity.
Team Integrity took the lead with a total of 1361 votes followed closely by Team Okuz with 1179 votes. The incoming Chairperson representing FOASS in FCSA is Peter Nguka.
AN ECONOMICS STUDENT LED -TEAM INTEGRITY WINS MAIN CAMPUS ELECTION
Following UNSA elections, an Economics students led team won the Faculty of Arts and social Sciences.
