WELCOME TO THE UON RESEARCH WEEK 2024

Research and Innovation is a core pillar of the University of Nairobi in our Strategic Plan, which contributes to the development of society through the creation, preservation, application, and dissemination of knowledge which we continue to actively participate in and contribute to national and global development.

This year's University of Nairobi Research week will run from Monday, October 28- Nov 1, 2024 across all Faculties.

UON-ECONOMICS STUDENT LEADS THE NATIONAL TEAM TO TUNISIA

Ziruel Brian Gichana a Bachelor of Economics & statistics student who plays for the UoN BasketBall team will lead the National under 23 as the team captain for the African beach games at  Hammamet in Tunisia. 

 

The university of Nairobi continues to produce holistic students who shine and put the country on the world map.

Ziruel Brian Goichana joins the likes of Ferdinand Omanyala.

 

Building policy coherence through Science-Policy Interface in Kenya

Stronger national research, institutions and more coordinated CGIAR approach builds coherence and acknowledge that unprecedented challenges require transformative change. To achieve this objective, setting up mechanisms and platforms for science-policy dialogues, regular exchange and rapid response using traditional and digital approaches, is key.

Rethinking Food Crisis Responses Report.

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) organized a hybrid launch event for its 2023 Global Food Policy Report in collaboration with the University of Nairobi through the department of Economics and Development Studies and as part of the CGIAR Initiative on National Policies and Strategies (NPS) seminar series on May 19, 2023 at 2.00pm to 4.00pm in the University of Nairobi-UoN Towers.

Courtesy call to the department of economics and development  studies by Juneweenex and Lensa Omune both from International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) for possible potential areas of collaboration between IFPRI and UON on public lecture/dissemination of research findings, capacity sharing/ mentorship/networking and collaborative/ joint research.
