Pastorial Climate Change Resilience in somaliland workshop.

The Department of Economics and Development Studies held a stakeholder and network seminar to introduce a new 5-year collaborative research project, Pastoralist Climate Change Adaptation in Somaliland (PACCS) to explore how pastoralists adapt to climate change effects on their livelihoods. The project will seek to uncover trade-offs and synergies between different climate resilience strategies and assess options for upscaling local resilience toward strengthening integrated responses to climate change. kindly wafula indicate when this happened? the dates

Courtesy call of chief regional economist African Development Bank Dr. Tilahun Temesgen to the department of economics and development studies for possible collaboration for capacity building to postgraduate students through internship, teaching and research, data sharing among others. 

Appointment of Departmental Chairman

Dr. Oleche was appointed the chairman of the Department of Economics and and Development Studies Effective 18th December 2022 . He replaces Prof. Anthony Wambugu Who has served at the position for six (6) years. The Department Congratulates Dr. Martine Oleche and wishes him well in the new appointment. It is with gratitude that the Department wishes Prof Anthony Wambugu well in all his future endeavors.

 

 

A Kenyan UON - Economics Student Crowned Winner of Africa's Biggest Beauty Contest 

 

The event was held on the night of  9th Sept 2022 in Abuja Nigeria.  BAIP is one of the most prestigious fashion and pageant competitions in the continent.  

After winning this competition, Messryis set to participate in other events  such as  Miss world International , Miss Globe and Miss Tourism. 

 

The U.o.N Department of Economics Congratulates Miss. Messry Mercy Lung'atso for this achievement and wishes her well in all her future pageant endeavors.
