Prof. Jane Mariara, Director, School of Economics was the Mace Bearer during the 52nd graduation ceremony. The Mace is the symbol of Authority and the Mace Bearer is appointed by the Vice-Chancellor to carry the Mace with the dignity and pride that befits its symbolic importance, and to be the lead figure in University processions. Prof. Mariara also gowned the Chancellor Dr. Vijoo Rattansi as she was conferred with honorary degree in humane letters.

The School of Economics is committed to staff development

Two academic staff members have recently obtained their PhD in Economics at the University of Nairobi, under the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Collaborative PhD program. They were awarded their degrees by the Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi during the 52nd Graduation ceremony. Their graduation is welcome as it will strengthen our service delivery in teaching, research and community service.
