Dr. Martine Odhiambo Oleche attended a Seminar on Economics and Trade for Teachers from African Countries 2015, in Shijiazhuang, China which was held between May 20, 2015 and June 9, 2015. The host was Hebei University of Economics and Business which is a comprehensive university centering on economics, management, and law while covering arts, science and engineering.

The African Economic Research Consortium (AERC) Biannual Research Workshop took place in Arusha, Tanzania, May 31-June 4, 2015. The Collaborative PhD Program (CPP) students presented their proposals in various thematic areas. Academic staff has also taken advantage of the research opportunities offered by AERC and presented research proposals.

On 19th March 2015, THE Collaborative Ph.D. Programme in Economics (CPP) students reported to the School to embark on their PhD thesis research. CPP is a collaborative training programme among Sub-Saharan African Universities in the field of postgraduate training in Economics, executed by the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC), with active participation of member universities. Under the programme, the School admits students who proceed to the University of Dar es Salaam for course work, then return to the University of Nairobi to write their PhD theses.

The CPP Class of 2013 has a total of 5 students, all with full Scholarships from the Government of Kenya through the African Economic Research Consortium (AERC). The students have just completed their course work and comprehensive examinations from the University of Dar es Salaam, the Host University under the Collaborative Programme.
